Scenes From Lucia's Baptism

Hi amigos! We just returned to Bonn after an action-packed week in Asturias. On Tuesday, October 25, Lucía received the Sacrament of Baptism in the church of San Juan de Parres, the Asturian village where my grand father was born and raised, and where my late father spent his childhood and teenage years after leaving his native Cuba in 1960.

The ceremony was beautiful. My brother Pedro and Carla, my best friend from Law School are Lucia's godparents. At the end of the ceremony Pedro delivered a highly emotional speech where he explained Lucía the importance of San Juan de Parres in our lives during the last four generations of our family.

It was an amazing day celebrating love, family and faith. We missed my father, who passed away last year, and remembered how we used to plan all together the logistics for Lu's Baptism. We are sure he enjoyed that day from wherever he is now. Here you have a few pictures if you'd like to see.

Have a great week and thanks for reading!

Fall Uniform: Poncho Outfit

Source

Confession: I've never been particularly drawn to ponchos. But during the past weeks they've grown on me (this post had a lot to do with that!).

I'm all about effortless, throw-on-and-go pieces, and a good poncho meets my comfort standards without compromising a tad of style. During the last seasons almost every major retailer or brand has come up with their own version of the pre-Inca-culture garment . As a result, the range of styles available now out there is nearly overwhelming. Here you have a round-up of my favorite options:

Top row (left to right): 1, 2, 3
Bottom row (left to right): 1, 2, 3

How do you guys like ponchos? Thanks for reading!

Celebrating All Things Fall At Gertrudenhof

Our daugher Lucía definitely makes our lifes much richer in endless ways. At almost 23 months (next week Friday), she is an active, curious kid. We love to go on outings as a small family of three, and explore new-to-us places where she can discover the world at her own pace.

Last Sunday, we drove up to Erlebnisbauernhof-Gertrudenhof: a big farm in the middle of the German country side with entertainment options for everybody: from a massive playground, to a farmers' market, animals, live music or a farm-to-table restaurant.  It was equally exciting and exhausting. We cannot wait to come back soon. Here you have a few pics if you'd like to see.
